A majority of Kibera residents are still experiencing water problems even after the conclusion of the Nairobi International Trade Fair on Sunday.
Last week, the residents had complained of water shortage but blamed the Nairobi Show for their woes.
“I thought we had no water because of the show last week. I expected that this week we will have water in the taps. I am so disappointed, I do not know what is happening,” said Helen Mokeira resident in Karanja on Tuesday.
“I don’t know who to blame because the show is no more. I blamed the trade fair managers for not preparing us in advance but the event is over and I am still facing the same challenges,’’ said Victor Tumaini, a water vendor in Karanja.
The residents now want the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company to address the situation and save them from further agony.
“We are really suffering. We wait for a long time to fetch water. It is very unfortunate,’’ added Tumaini.
