The Nakuru County Kenya Bureau of Statistics (Kebs) regional office has recorded positives in the on-going fight against illicit brewers.
According to County Assistant Director Peter Ndisi, a lot that had been happening behind their back has been revealed and this was to be positively used in improving their service delivery.
“As an office, this operation is a wake-up call as far as our service delivery is concerned,” he told journalist in his offices on Wednesday.
He added, “It’s shocking that some businessmen dealing with illegal merchandise have resorted to faking our stickers so as to remain in business.”
The quality products expert cautioned business operators who were not compliant that their days were numbered.
“We are going to mount a crackdown soon to flush out all non-compliant operators. We are committed to professionalism and quality service delivery,” Ndisi said.
Last week, an operation led by National Campaign against Drug Abuse (Nacada) Chairman John Mututho led to the confiscation of fake Licences and Kebs stickers in Nakuru’s Bahati Estate where he threatened to arrest Kebs officials involved in the saga.
