A woman was arraigned before a Nakuru court on Friday charged with theft. Maureen Wambui was accused of stealing household properties from her aunt, Joyce Wangui on diverse dates between May and June this year.
Wambui's Lawyer, Lawrence Mwangi told the court that the complainant in the case is her aunt and false information was given to the police regarding the circumstance of missing property.
Mwangi prayed that the court gives her a reasonable bond terms since she is going to be available to attend court sessions every time.
"Her aunt is the complainant in this case, the police were given false information, for rationality to prevails, they must help the court to bring justice," he said. Wambui is alleged to have stolen a home theatre system, dvd, cloths, a pair of shoes among others properties, the property was valued at Sh61,600.
She denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Doreen Mulekyo and was released on a cash bail of Sh20,000.
The case will be heard on September 27.
