Well, we are in the thick and hustles of the holiday season and most of us are looking forward to Christmas.
You are probably running up and down wondering how you will make that day special to your family and friends and importantly to yourself.
Most of us are in the process of buying gifts, shopping for the D-day and even planning parties. However, some of you are stressed on how to make the best out of it since you’ve chose to complicate things.
Simplicity is foreign to adults and hence most of you make everything much more complicated than it has to be. Notably, you’ve made Christmas day a laundry list of TO-DOs instead of a time of celebrations.
As result, here are four ways to simplify Christmas and enjoy it.
Spending
Do not spend what you don’t have It is imperative to be true to yourself in this Christmas season and thus only do what you can NOT what you wish you could. Do not go into debts just for the sake of buying expensive gifts, buy what you can afford.
It is key to stick to your lane and avoid creating an illusion that you have money yet you don’t. January month will be there waiting for you.
You will need school fees and the likes and hence I recommend that you only spend with what you have.
Faith
Focus on your faith and family as Christmas is meant to celebrate Jesus Christ and His birth. As a Christian, one of the best ways for me to simplify Christmas is to focus on my faith. Focusing on faith and family makes everything else seem less important. Let us prioritise everything.
Fun
It is just a party. It is supposed to be fun-not perfect. Do not set your expectations so high. It is not going to be the worst party your guests have ever attended and it’s probably not going to the best ever. Focus on making it fun and avoid perfection. Trying to perfect this season will only leave you stressed out. Be simple.
Help
The best thing you can for yourself is trying to actively look for someone struggling and help them out. You can choose to buy foodstuff for the needy, you can also donate clothes and put a smile on their faces this Christmas. Remember a hand that gives is the one that receives.
Represent Jesus in your doings this season.
