Speaking in his office on Friday, Abdi said that he was aware of the security challenges that the bodaboda operators were facing and that he will work around the clock to address them.

"I have received complaints from the bodaboda chairman of operators being attacked in their line of duty and I am saddened. I will work tirelessly to bring the culprits to book," he said.

He said that he had deployed police officers to ensure that security of bodaboda operators was guaranteed and they conduct their business in peace.

"I have deployed my officers to patrol at night and I want to assure them that cases of insecurity will be a thing of the past," he assured.

This comes after North Rift Taxis and Bodaboda Association Chairman Richard Mukhobero on Thursday raised concern over increased insecurity of bodaboda operators.

He said not long ago, four bodaboda operators were brutally murdered while on duty.
