ODM political activist Austin Makamu has come under criticism for telling Kisumu County staff to support Governor Jack Ranguma or face the sack.
East Seme Ward representative Aggrey Ogosi said such statements should not be tolerated in the era of the new Constitution.
Mr Makamu who had accompanied the governor to Seme sub county on Friday to launch flood lights had told the governor to sack county staff who do not support his leadership.
Ogosi urged Governor Ranguma to disassociate himself with such people who will only make Ranguma unpopular in the county.
Addressing a press conference in Kisumu, Ogosi said the Constitution says that no civil servant should participate in politics.
He said civil servants should not be used for campaigns.
He said public funds should not be wasted through unnecessary traveling.
“You wonder why there are so many vehicles in the convoy of the governor. Like they were launching a flood light worth Sh1.5 million yet what the vehicles are consuming is too much,” he said.
