Nakuru Town west legislator Samuel Arama has recommended a harsh penalty for alcohol traders found selling alcohol to minors.
Speaking on Tuesday in Nakuru, Arama advised NACADA chairman John Mututho to consider coming up with draconian measures against such traders instead of raising the legal drinking age.
He added that revising the legal drinking age from the current 18 years to 21 years would not help much as offenders would not transform into responsible drunkards overnight.
Mututho has promised to rally members of parliament to revise the current drinking age upwards to lock out teenagers from the bottle.
