Slightly a day after a number of Kitutu Masaba politicians challenged two leading Nyamira gubernatorial aspirants to hold dialogue and front one candidate, one of the aspirant ha dismissed the calls as ‘mutilation of democracy’.

Politicians Alloys Moseti, Victor Ogeto and Shadrack Mose had challenged Walter Nyambati and Charles Mochama to hold dialogue to settle on one of them.

However, Mochama, who spoke to this writer on Tuesday dismissed the calls and said the dialogue would be a great violation of principle of democracy.

“It’s laughable that people want Nyambati and me to hold dialogue to choose who will go for gubernatorial race. That will be mutilation of democracy and a great violation of principles of democracy,” he said.

“Nyamira people are only keen to choose suitable leaders with viable policies and not considering where they come from. The issue of region should not be discussed at all because people are yearning for good leadership,” he added.

Mochama vowed to continue with his campaigns and labeled those rallying for dialogue as ‘agents of impunity’, and urged residents to ignore them.

“I will continue to work hard as sell my policies to our people. Those calling for dialogue are agents of impunity who are out to hoodwink the people of Nyamira. I urge our people to ignore them and focus on how to vote able people to the county leadership,” Mochama added.

He urged the team calling for dialogue to challenge Nyambati to bow out of the race because he is a new comer in the gubernatorial race.

“They should tell Nyambati to step down because he found me in the race. He has been competing in the parliamentary race and it’s a ridicule to ask me come for dialogue,” he said.

The two candidates come from vote rich Kitutu Masaba constituency, and they are likely to split votes in 2017 polls as they seek to topple Governor John Nyagarama who comes from West Mugirango.
