Drama emerged in Nyansiongo Township in Nyamira county on Sunday when an aspiring MCA allegedly publicly humiliated her husband by smashing glasses of a car over claims that the husband bought it without her consent.
Mrs. Ann Nyamusi Makori allegedly picked up a huge stone and smashed the car glasses to the disappointment of her husband and members of the public who witnessed the incident before engaging in a shouting contest with the husband.
The ugly scenario didn’t go well with the members of the public from Nyansiongo ward that went to the rescue of Mr. Wycliffe Makori who had been physically and emotionally overpowered.
“It’s really disappointing that a person purporting to be a leader can do this in public. This habit should never be condoned in our community. It’s sad that she can humiliate the person who is the head of the family in our midst,” said Mr. Calvin Mong’are who had gone to the rescue of the victim.
Overwhelmed, Mr. Makori said he had purchased a second hand car without involving her wife only to be humiliated.
“I don’t know how she realized that I had gone to purchase the vehicle,” he said.
Efforts to reach Mrs. Nyamusi who is the aspiring to be Nyansiongo MCA for comment were futile since she had sped off in a boda boda to save her life from angry men who had threatened to lynch her for disrespecting Mr. Wycliffe Makori.
