The assembly’s opposition MCAs started the protest after Speaker Kerosi Ondieki failed to reach the assembly on time.

The ward reps led by Peter Omari, George Bibao, Wilfred Monyenye, the assembly’s Deputy Speaker Evans Mokoro said there is a plan by the assembly to pass El Nino Bill in the county that is not in line with the will of the people.

The MCAs alleged that the Speaker was trying to divide them by holding separate meetings with MCAs from the ruling coalition.

“We waited for the speaker for about forty five minutes without a word from anybody on what was going on and on making enquiries we were told he has been in a meeting with ODM ward reps,” said Monyenye.

The MCAs said they will not allow unnecessary laws to be imposed on the people.
