Needy students who want to benefit from funding under the Bahati CDF bursary programme have until Thursday to submit application forms awaiting vetting before being considered.
Area MP Kimani Ngunjiri said the forms should be submitted to assistant chiefs offices before close of business on January 7.
"We will liaise with the assistant chiefs to ensure that the forms reach us on time for the vetting process because we don't want to lock out any student," Ngunjiri noted.
Speaking on Tuesday morning in a live interview with a local radio station, Njite FM, the MP urged students wishing to be considered in the 2016 academic year to rush against time to avoid being locked out.
"It is our mandate to offer a helping hand to all needy students in our constituency, this time limit is important because schools are already in session and the money is needed to keep them there," he said.
He further stressed on the importance of having a job portal saying a lot of people who benefited from funding by his CDF kitty were still jobless because of not having an idea of how best to identify probable employers.
The vetting committee will converge on Friday to deliberate on how the process will be undertaken.
