Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has told off his opponents after the CORD Malindi victory on Monday.
He promised that there would be more victories in the Coastal region.
Joho advocated for free and fair elections at the Coast. This remarks were made by him after Kabete MP, Ferdinand Waititu was caught bribing voters. Joho clashed with Waititu but congratulated the people of Malindi for being brave. He said the people had opened up their minds and they were not going to be bought to exercise democracy. He further told his opponents that this is just the start as the ODM party will win all other seats in the coastal region in 2017 general elections.
The CORD win at the coast has been accredited to Joho’s stand by Kibera resident.
‘‘Joho is very bright. It is high time the Coastal people wake up. Gone are the days when a person could be given money to vote for a candidate. Bravo Malindi people for refusing corruption,’’ said Zainabu Aden, a Malindi resident.
