Residents of Rhonda estate in Nakuru Town West sub-county have called upon the police to beef up security in the area.
Speaking Friday, the residents said there was more to the latest wave of insecurity that has hit the area than just mere retaliation.
The residents who did not want to be named citing reprisals, said some political figures in the area could be propping up the vicious gang ahead of the next year's general election.
They urged County Commissioner Joshua Nkanatha to deploy more police officers in the area saying they were at the mercy of the criminals who seem to execute their attacks from an informed position.
On Wednesday night, police battled with a gang which had reportedly set out to avenge the attacks of their members by a rival gang.
However, when contacted, Nakuru OCPD Musa Kongoli steered clear off the matter only saying the police were already on the ground to monitor the situation.
