As many people come across beggars in Kisii town, they get into their pockets and hand them whatever small thing they have just saw that they can help.
Recently, the number of beggars has increased rapidly as compared to the previous times in the town. You could hardly get a beggar before but now they are literally all over the town.
It is now known that most of the beggars in the town are not really beggars. Some are even hired by people to pretend to be lame or sick so that they can be ‘helped’.
You would not believe it but these people actually have homes which they go to every evening after a day’s work.
It has come to the attention of Kisii county residents, who dwell in Kisii town, that these beggars have been hired and brought to Kisii town by certain individuals from disclosed places to be beggars at a fee.
This has, therefore, brought tension and among amongst residents who feel they have been taken on a ride for a while now.
Residents have now completely desisted from helping any beggars, even if they are really beggars, nobody will believe them.
