Bodaboda operators in Kamwangi town will soon renew their Sacco membership after a series of complains that some members were not fully contributing to the development of the Sacco.
Speaking on Sunday morning during an official meeting, the Sacco management agreed to only renew the names of the members who have been submitting to the Sacco at the end of every week.
Joseph Mureithi the Sacco chairman noted that some members had joined other Saccos that are not related to bodaboda business making it hard for them to concentrate their strength more on the bodaboda Sacco.
Mureithi noted that the Sacco had a membership of 69 among which only 42 are fully committed for its development.
He urged the committed members to continue supporting its growth citing that the Sacco’s funds will soon be seen working.
"We already have Sh2.3 million. According to what we have agreed, we will fist purchase land and leave it before we commence the construction project," he disclosed.
He highlighted that the none committed members' shares and membership fee would be given back in three months time according to the agreement they signed.
"The withdrawal fee will be fully paid in after three months according to the letter they signed. We will continue to serve bodaboda operators to ensure we grow together," he said.
The Sacco Secretary Paul Muigai called on other bodaboda riders within Kamwangi and who are willing to grow to join the Sacco citing that the Sacco offers loans at low interest rates as compared to banks.
