News of the Sh71 million medical consignment recently flagged off by Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has been received with varied reactions by Bondeni residents, with a majority calling on the county government to first renovate the facility before equipping it.
They lamented about the old buildings, leaking roofs, broken beds and outdated equipment as the reasons they opt seeking medical attention in private facilities.
"Our dispensary needs a total overhaul before being stocked. To us, renovating it is a priority," noted Juliet Monda.
"The situation on the ground is pathetic, the infrastructure is wanting. We have complained for the past two years but nothing seems to be forthcoming," said one of the nurses.
Nevertheless, Governor Mbugua while flagging off the drugs consignment, promised to renovate medical facilities in each sub-county saying a healthy society was a productive one.
The medical consignment will be supplied to all health facilities across the county.
