University graduates from Borabu’s Nyansiongo Township have resolved to start a caucus that will spearhead motivational talks in area schools to encourage young learners to excel in national exams.

The caucus dubbed Borabu Youth for Education will be fully funded by area MP Ben Momanyi and will be tasked to visit all schools from the region in a rotational manner.

Interim chair Emily Nyaboke Wednesday said the group will also be keen to conduct a research to ascertain the cause of perennial poor performance of the region in national exams.

“We have resolved to visit all schools in the region for motivational speaking so that we can encourage our brothers and sisters to perform. We are happy that area MP has promised to support us and this is the time we will also carry out a research to ascertain why our schools perform dismally in national exams,” she said.

Nyaboke also urged other stakeholders to chip in and support the 50 member team to execute its duties efficiently, hinting that they will also be keen to help area teachers by equipping them with learning materials.

“This is not just about motivational speaking. We also want to equip our teachers with revision materials so that they can prepare our children adequately before they sit for exams. We understand that many of the institutions are poorly equipped in terms of facilities,” she added.

She was optimistic that the area institutions will recover after years of a series of dismal performances and match other regions, courtesy of the group.
