The Kisumu County government has been challenged to woo investors to construct more hotel rooms with high standards that can help locals to conduct conferences and accommodate tourists.

Speaking on Saturday in Kisumu town, business entrepreneur Krishan Odegi in an interview said the county needed to be hospitable by ensuring more hotel rooms are constructed.

Odegi challenged fellow entrepreneurs to have great unity to make the lakeside region for business.

Odegi said investment in the hospitality industry will see more businesses open in the town.

"We still need hotel rooms evenly distributed in our surrounding especially places that would attract most locals, hence improving the cash flow," he said.

Kisumu is Kenya's third largest town.

The town, apart from Nairobi and Mombasa has many visitors but the limited rooms for accommodation makes it hard for investors to put their businesses there.
