Needy 2015 KCPE candidates who will be enrolled in national schools from Kitutu Masaba constituency will have their fees offset using Constituency Development Fund (CDF), area MP has said.
Timothy Bosire who visited Kemera ward Sunday said his administration was keen to support the top performers and urged parents and guardians of the candidates to forward the details of the candidates once selection is done.
He said the move does not rule out his support to lowly ranked institutions and promised to help children from needy backgrounds that will also be joining county schools.
“I know spaces for national schools are limited and those needy children from my constituency who will be admitted will have their fee cleared by CDF kitty. That doesn’t mean that I will not be supporting other institutions. We will try as possible to ensure every needy child benefits from the CDF kitty,” he said.
He however said the CDF committee will not hesitate to withdraw support from beneficiaries who fail to show their progressive reports to the committee after very term.
“These children are under our support. We therefore demand that they submit their academic results every term so that we check on their performances. We have to assess whether or not they are making us of the support,” he said.
Bosire also hinted that the CDF committee will also be supporting motivational talks to all schools in the region by inviting academicians to speak to the young learners as a way of encouraging them to perform well in studies.
“It’s not always that we support those students lone. We will soon ensure that all institutions get motivational speakers for the sake of encouraging them to perform,” he said.
