Uasin Gishu County Deputy governor Daniel Chemno has urged investors to invest in the tourism sector in the county since it has many unexploited tourist attraction sites.

Speaking in his office on Friday, Chemno said that Uasin Gishu County government is determined to improve all tourist attraction sites through renovating them.

“In this financial year we have set aside Sh6 million for the construction of Chagaiya High altitude training centre for sports tourism that will be used by both local and international athletes for their training,” he said.

He said that his government has also set aside Sh10 million for the renovation of Sosiani Nature and recreational centre which will be used as a tourist attraction site.

He also said that the county government has identified Kesses dam, Sirikwa cave and Koromosho water fall as community based tourist sites.

“We will heavily pump all resources to ensure that our tourist sites are up to standards that will attract tourist and foreign investors to come and invest in our county,” said Chemno.

He also challenged Uasin Gishu residents to be local tourist and invest in their county and should not rely only on foreign investors since they have what it takes to change the county’s economy.
