Kuresoi South MP Zakayo Cheruiyot has demanded an explanation over reports of disappearance of building material at an ongoing Constituency Development Fund project at a school in his constituency.
Speaking on Thursday after he made a visit to Chebolungu Primary School where a classroom construction project is ongoing, Cheruiyot tasked the school's administration to identify the perpetrators and ensuring the law takes its course.
He called on the CDF office to make a follow up on the matter to the letter, terming the theft a criminal offence punishable by the law.
"These are public funds and we are expected to account for every single cent, nobody should misuse anything. I want anybody mentioned in the theft to set the record straight because my office will not relent over the matter," he said.
This comes barely a week after the residents questioned the disappearance of materials from the school under unclear circumstances.
