The Kisii County government has signed a sh12 billion memorandum of understanding with a Chinese company.

The Kisii governor, James Ongwae confirmed that the money will see the construction of a new city in Kisii town.

In his official Facebook page, Ongwae confirmed the signing for the MoU on Tuesday with Boleyn Magic Wall Panel, following a successful entrepreneurial Summit in the county.

“I have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a Chinese company, Boleyn Magic Wall Panel, to allow the firm invest sh12 billion to build a new Kisii city,” Ongwae said.

According to him, the firm will construct 2000 units of houses to meet the housing demand for public servants and the general public from Kisii County.

“The new city will also include residences, bank buildings, offices, shopping malls, schools and health centres,” Ongwae noted.

He said the firm will set a pre-cast plant in the county and train over 1000 youths and women for employment in the first year and the plant will also serve 13 counties in the lake region economic block.
