Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has called upon churches in the county to help in the fight against tribalism.

Speaking at the Victors Chapel, Naivasha Sunday, the county boss said churches play a significant role in peace building, adding that it stood a better position to unite members of diverse ethnic backgrounds residing in the county.

Mbugua also reaffirmed his support to churches in the county saying they have continued to play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the county government in promoting harmony and development.

At the same time he called upon the youth in the county to take advantage of the enabling environment created by the county government to enhance their entrepreneurial abilities.

Nakuru County was one of the hot spots during the 2007-2008 post election violence, where communities ganged up against each other following a disputed presidential election results.
