The churches have been urged to play a role in the fight against prostitution in Kisii and Nyamira counties by strongly preaching against it.
According to Stella Osoro, the founder of Angaza Foundation, the menace is still at high rate in the towns and she urged churches to voluntarily address the matter as it has taken roots without sympathising with those who indulge in the act.
''I urge our churches to put measures in place on how we can work together and end this menace. If we are not going to address this issue at the early stages, we have no future of our girls so let us talk about it without fear," said Ms. Osoro.
Ms. Osoro who was speaking on Tuesday, following the measures that have been put in place after the foundation visited the area last month, said that nothing so far has been done as the foundation has planned to meet with other stakeholders and discuss on how to end the menace.
The Angaza founder who is also a physiologist said that the menace has given mothers sleepless nights since they are the ones most affected than men.
