Athi River deputy county commissioner, Kodeck Makori, has been recalled to the office of the president.

Addressing a fare well party organized for him by Mavoko MP, Patrick Makau at an Athi River town hotel on Thursday, the outgoing commissioner said he is glad to where he referred to as is "home."

"I am happy to return home after serving as the Athi River deputy county commissioner for close to five years, it is the Harambee House where I had come from when I was deployed here that I am returning to," said Makori.

Makori thanked the entire Athi River sub-county community for being cooperative to him during his tenure, a situation he argued led to elimination of criminals in the region.

"I have enjoyed working in Athi River and will miss everybody. The support of all of you have managed to put the entire sub-county to a level we can now confidently say it is secure," said Makori.

Makori extended his gratitude to the area assistant county commissioners, chiefs and their assistants who he said are all hard working and committed to their work.

He said through the region's security team led by himself as chairman of the sub-county security committee then, area police boss Kizito Mutoro and Administration Police commander Stephen Mureithi among other players they managed to bring down insecurity in the area to zero.

"When I was deployed in the sub-county in early 2011, I found most of its parts especially the Syiokimau area very insecure. The rates of robbery with violent in the region was very high given that it is cosmopolitan with several scape routes towards Nairobi, Mombasa and the neighboring Tanzania. We managed to contain it though since we are committed to protect lives and property which is our main business and core mandate," said Makori.

He said he equally enjoyed political good will from the region's political leaders thereby making his work of serving the residents more easier.

Makori said the residents should not hesitate to reach him on phone whenever they were in security crisis and needed urgent help;"If you cannot reach the OCPD, you can get me on phone while you are in crisis so that I assist you," said he.

He urged the locals and entire Athi River community to warmly welcome the incoming deputy county commissioner to make his settling and work in the new station easier.

The ceremony was attended by members of the business community, religious leaders, government departmental heads, assistant county commissioners, lawyers, chiefs and their assistants, village elders, women and youth leaders, several OCPDs, Athi River police boss, area AP commander, Area MP among other leaders.
