Former chairman of the Commission for the Implementation of the Constitution (CIC) Charles Nyachae has said that the intention of the new constitution is to give an equal opportunity to all schools regardless of the region.
Nyachae was speaking on Friday at Hema secondary school in Chitago Ichuni ward during a fundraising in aid of constructing the school dormitories.
“The intention of the constitution is to give all schools an equal opportunity either in infrastructure or in free education,” said Nyachae.
“By having the equal opportunity we know that our schools can do better," said Nyachae.
"for instance, we are here for the construction of dormitories, it will be so hard for our students to do well while they sleep in the temporal structure unlike other students who are comfortable elsewhere,” he added.
He further said that education should be given the first priority by the community as he challenged residents to give students an environment which can enable them to study.
“The society can only be changed by education to be able to compete with the best let us give our students a good environment for their studies,” added Nyachae.
