Kisii County government has been told to construct toilets and maintain cleanliness at Kisii main matatu stage.
According to the matatu operators, the county government has failed to improve the environment of the stage despite numerous promises by some county officials.
Led by Kisii Matatu Association chairman Samson Okong'o, they appealed to the county leadership to counter the challenges facing them to enhance the transport sector.
“There are many challenges we are facing as Kisii matatu operators which need immediate attention, we urge our county government to intervene and provide solutions to the problems,” said Okong'o.
They said they face the challenge of lack of public toilets and delayed collection of garbage from the stage.
“We lack public toilets in this stage, our workers and customers struggle to get a place where they can help themselves,” he said.
Okong'o also has urged county security agents to help them to tighten security at the stage especially during the festive season.
