Newly elected Kisii county ODM Youth League leaders have slammed people raising questions about the rapid acquisition of wealth by Mr Steve Mbogo terming the suspicions as ‘uncalled for and a discouragement among the youths’.
Mr Mbogo had come under intense scrutiny after his membership to Faulu microfinance board was dismissed by the management after he had told Citizen TV that he was a board member.
Mbogo had also been dismissed by Fly 540 CEO Don Smith also threatened to sue the young millionaire terming him as an imposter to his aviation industry.
Mr Erick Jangaya said on Sunday that attacks directed to the young millionaire were a discouragement to the Kenyan youths.
“I want to confirm today that the suspicions on or comrade (Steve Mbogo) are uncalled for and a discouragement to the youths. It’s even sad when someone goes ahead to say that his academic qualifications are invalid and irregular. I don’t know his association with Faulu or Fly 540 but no one should question his wealth,” he said during an interview at his Kisii offices.
Janganya said the suspicions on Mr Mbogo’s achievement were undermining the hard work from youthful generations and urged Kenyan youths to rise up and say enough is enough against those acting as stumbling blocks to their growth.
“When you undermine the achievement of a youth that has worked hard, it means that you believe youths cannot make money through entrepreneurship. We should rise up and ashame those who are enemies of our progress,” he said.
