County governments and the Constituency Development Fund [ CDF] committees have been urged to help out needy students in the society.

Addressing parents and guardians on Friday at Equity Bank, Kisii branch, during the flagging off of Wings to Fly program to 25 needy students from Kisii counties, Michael Chege Bank BGDM said that all stakeholders should come together in support of needy students.

''I wish to kindly appeal to the county government and CDF committees to support these children and sponsor some of them,” said Chege.

In addition, he added that children are future leaders and it is the governments responsibility to support and nurture them towards achieving their life dreams through education.

''The function of teaching is to help children think intensively and critically, intelligence plus character that is the goal of true education some let us support our children in education,” added Chege.

To the parents and guardians, he advised them to continue supporting their children to excel in their academic per suits. The program awarded 25 students from needy families who scored 350 marks and above in Kisii County.

''I therefore urge our students to take full advantage of this opportunity that they have been accorded,''concluded Chege.
