Persons Living with Disability (PLWDs) in Nakuru County will get financial assistance from the county government.

This was announced by Governor Kinuthia Mbugua through County Executive Chair for Education and Social Service, Francis Mathea.

Each ward will receive Sh1 million from the county government purposed at empowering PLWDS in the ward.

Mbugua directed that PLWDs form groups so that the department can disburse the monies.

“These are our people and their input in the society is something that leaves so much to be desired. Idf we empower them, we will have achieved a lot as a government and as a community,” Mbugua said in Kuresoi North constituency Thursday.

Mathea said the funds once given to the groups, can be invested in Saccos which has better interest terms and low rates of loan repayment.

“The money can be invested in a sacco because it has better interest terms than other multinational financial providers and even in the event that you would like to secure a loan, it is easy,” he said.

The group of PLWDs from Kuresoi North thanked the county boss and expressed their gratitude for his consideration on their plight.

They promised to use the money prudently and channel it to projects which would benefit the whole community.
