Residents of Ogembo have hailed the Kisii government for hiring two more dental doctors at Gucha District Hospital.
They said on.... that the move will help cut costs they have been incurring in travelling for along distances in search of the service.
This is the part of the measures the county has put in place to improve health care services in sub-counties.
Governor James Ongwae who was on a development tour of the area last week said they came up with a decision of adding dental doctors at the hospital even as plans are at an advanced stage to upgrade the facility.
“We have now two dental doctors who are going to help residents who have been travelling for a long distance to the Kisii Referral and Teaching Hospital for the same,” said Ongwae
He also said the county government has agreed with the national government to relocate the Ogembo police station to create room for hospital expansion
“We have discussed with the national government through the County Commissioner Chege Mwangi to give us police land so that we can expand the hospital and have more infrastructure where we can set put more machines,” noted the county boss.
Ongwae has promised to allocate more resources to the health sector to upgrade hospitals and better health care services.
