Kisii Governor James Ongwae has promised to equip Kenyenya sub-district hospital in Bomachoge Borabu with x-ray and other machines to help in treatment of patients.
Ongwae gave the pledge on Friday at Kenyenya during a fundraiser for former Bomachoge MP Zephania Nyang’wara who is set to undergo a kidney transplant in India.
This is after a concern was raised by Bokimonge ward representative George Bibao who asked Ongwae to equip the hospital so that it can help serve residents to cut huge costs incurred while seeking for medical service outside the ward.
“I ask you governor to put an x-ray machine, theater and establish a mortuary for our hospital. This will be cost effective to our people.”
Ongwae toured county development projects in Kenyenya and expressed the commitment by his administration in improving health care, road infrastructure, markets, education, and water, among other areas.
The governor said his government through the ministry of Water, Energy, Environment and Natural Resources will rehabilitate water projects including Riokindo in Bokimonge Ward, Mokenene in Magenche, Nyamesocho in Boochi Borabu among other projects to ensure locals have safe drinking water in their homes.
He said more flood lights will be installed at Kenyenya market in addition to the two recently installed to promote a 24-hour economy.
“My government is installing high mast flood lights in all markets across the county to promote a 24 hour economy. All county headquarters have been lit in bid to enhance security and support business,” said Ongwae.
