Sauti ya Wajane Chapter has urged the county government of Kisii under the leadership of governor James Ongwae to support their initiative.
Speaking on Wednesday at Kisii Cultural Hall during the launching of 16 days of activism campaign against gender based violence, Kisii Sauti ya Wajane chair lady Marcella Sayana said that the group needs support from the county government to combat the numerous challenges they face, among them lack of funds.
“As the Kisii County Sauti ya Wajane, we urge the county government to support us so that we can be able to develop by having funds we be to start development projects," said Sayana.
She also said that the disabled widows in the group require attention which can be efficiently facilitated by funds.
“In the group, we have some disabled widows who need attention. We urge our county government to support them so that they can have some funds which will enable them to come to attend forums such as this,” she added.
