Machakos Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala has decried delayed emergency services in Matungulu Sub-County.
Speaking during the burial ceremony of Machakos senator's nephew in Machakos on Monday, Kiala said that it is unfortunate that the county residents have to wait for long hours before they can receive emergency services.
This comes following reports that the body of the deceased was left in a dam where he had drowned while attempting to swim for two days, without emergency response officers taking any action to retrieve the body.
Kiala asked Matungulu Sub-County adminstrator Victor Kiatu to ensure the services are accessible to the residents whenever needed.
"What is the use of having the emergency services if they can't help the residents. Such services should be readily available to residents,” said Kiala.
