Kisii youths have been advised to engage in meaningful activities that can make them grow and help in improving the economy of the county, instead of venturing into substance abuse.
Albert Oino, Kisii scouts patron and Chitago Borabu MCA, noted that majority of youths who engage in drug and alcohol abuse have lost direction of life.
"I ask my fellow youths to desist from being misused by usage of drugs. They have ruined us and if we continue this way we will not go anywhere," warned the MCA.
He was speaking on Friday at Etago in South Mugirango constituency, in the ongoing two week training for Kisii scouts youth.
The county's youth scouts leader, Caleb Ondieki said the training comprises of more than 45 youths from across the county.
Mr Ondieki said the youths in the training will sensitise other youths in their respective wards on the issues of drugs.
"In the training, every ward is represented by at least one youth. After the training they will go to their wards and sensitise other youths on the effects of alcohol and drug abuse," said the scouts leader.
