Laini Saba market traders have now come up with a new way of selling their commodities in the market.
Speaking on Wednesday at the market, Clement Otis, a trader said that since the year started, the business has been very hard. Customers have kept off.
“I sell beans, rice, Irish potatoes, peanuts and millet. The business has not been doing well. To lure customers, I make sounds that attract them towards my stall so that they can see what I have to offer,’’ she said.
Ms Otis said at times, people think she’s mad and she believes that’s what attracts people even more to her stall. She pointed out that even if a customer was not going to stop by her stall, she makes sure she gets them to.
The saying desperate times call for desperate measures certainly apply here, no doubt.
