Persons with living with disabilities in Kibera have been urged to apply for Uwezo Fund to help them get capital to set up businesses and improve their lives.

Addressing the disabled people on Wednesday at DC, chairperson of Uwezo Fund in Kibera, Isma Yasin urged them to form groups so as to access the monies.

“This money is not for one person. It is for women, youths and the disabled. We have already issued out Sh13 million out of Sh16 million given to us by the government. We want you people to be part of those who will receive the remaining Sh3 million,” said Yasin.

“’You should form and register your groups, fill the business plan form and bring it to our offices here at DC. Our committee will later evaluate it. The group should also indicate that it has a bank account,” he added.

Yasin said the registration of the group is easy and saves time.

He urged the group leaders who will be nominated by their members to register the group at the huduma Centre Kibera branch.
