Maendeleo ya Wanawake Nakuru County treasurer Florence Chepkorir has assured Deputy President William Ruto that the Rift Valley is rallying behind him.
She said the Jubilee Alliance Party’s victory in the just-concluded Kericho senatorial by-election is a pointer that the Kalenjin fully support Ruto, and the Rift Valley is behind him.
“People should know that we are in government as the Kalenjin and we are behind the Deputy President all the way,” she said on Wednesday in Nakuru.
Chepkorir hit hard at a section of Kalenjin leaders who are doing politics aimed at dividing the Rift Valley.
She said all Kalenjin will follow the DP.
“There are those who we saw in Kericho doing politics of dividing the Kalenjin community and I am telling them that we are past that. We will never be divided. We are standing together in support of Deputy President William Ruto because Kalenjins are united people,” she said.
Chepkorir also congratulated the Senator-elect Aaron Cheruiyot for his triumph in the Kericho by-election.
