The ongoing heavy rains being witnessed across the country have come with both positive and negative impacts to people.
In Kibera, the rains have caused more of harm than good. This is witnessed in the leaking roofs, giving residents a hard time.
Speaking at Olympic, James Ng’ang’a said his family spend sleepless night on Tuesday night due to the heavy rains witnessed in Nairobi County.
‘’I have to admit that as a man I felt embarrassed seeing my family sit in one corner as it rained. I have no job and the situation is tough. I would like to appeal to the area Member of Parliament or any well-wisher to at donate some two pieces of iron sheet to me so that my family will not suffer further,’ he said.
Morgan Aluvaga also said his family underwent the same problem at their house in Kamukunji.
Unlike Ng’ang’a, Aluvaga is better off since he it is only a section of his house that leaks.
However, he said he is worried of the windy rains which can easily carry away the iron sheets.
‘’If the rains will be accompanied by winds, then most of the people will be in trouble because the iron sheets have not been tightly fixed,’’ said Aluvaga.
