Speaking at the scene, Uasin Gishu County Director of Fire department Peter Kurgat said the vehicle was doing its normal operations of road construction when it exploded and burst into flames.

"When using the vehicle in road construction it's supposed to heat to eighty per cent but unfortunately it overheat and exploded. It took us 20 minutes to put out the fire," he said.
