A borehole being drilled at Kagoto Primary School  has produced water at 130 metres.

Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri could not hide his joy after reports surfaced that water has been struck at only 130 metres.

“At only 130 meters, Kagoto well being drilled by an international NGO in conjunction with my office has already struck water,” said the MP on Tuesday.

He further added that sources on the ground said the well already had enough for tapping, but the drilling will continue to some 150 meters.

The project is a partnership between Bahati CDF and an international NGO, and will see three boreholes sunk at the primary school, Githioro DO’s compound and at Kamiruri.

Ngunjiri also said the NGO will lay water pipes to a distance of 2.5km and further set up four water kiosks which will ease access to water for residents in the area.

“On completion, the NGO will also lay pipes for 2.5km as well as providing four water kiosks along the line. These water kiosks will make it easier for local residents to fetch water near their homes,” said he.

Ngunjiri promised Bahati residents that he will ensure they have piped water before the next general elections.
