FORD people Kenya supporters from Nyamira county has now called upon the party officials to focus on popularizing and unifying the party ahead of the 2017 elections.
Speaking in a Nyamira hotel, some of the party supporters said that the party should be key when it comes to Gusii politics and there was need for them to ensure that they have their party well known ahead of the most anticipated election in 2017.
Led by Denis Mochama, they said that the party still remains key to the regional politics and he would really want to see the party get more elected leaders through it.
“We know that the party left a legacy through Nyachae and we want to call upon the officials to do their part to see the party alive," he said.
He advised those intending to contest for electoral positions under the FORD people banner to present themselves early for vetting by the party’s electoral body.
Ford people has been one of the parties that dominated the early politics in Gusii region under the flagship of the veteran politician Simion Nyachae.
Currently, the party has only one Member of Parliament who represents Bonchari county Zebedeo Opore and few MCAs in both Nyamira and Kisii counties respectively.
