An African proverb says,"Do not bite the hands that feed you." I could not agree more.

Foreign aid coming into African countries is like the hands that feed them when they cannot find enough to sustain them.

In Kenya, we have heard of greedy individuals who even steal money meant for the poor.

We have heard cases of local middlemen conning foreign investors through fraudulent deals of land and tender.

Last year in November, Chinese investors halted Sh200 billion project over land fraud in Machakos county.

The project would have seen the construction of multi-storey apartments, schools, showground and a business hub for assembling Chinese products in Athi river.

Now the locals are not benefiting from such foreign investments because they decided to bite the hands that feed them.

I support the Chinese investors for stopping to fund projects marred with corrupt deals and other investors should do the same.

It's a shame to even con somebody who brought you help.
