A day after a section of Makongeni residents raised concerns over what they termed as a resurgence of second generation brews in the area, four people among them a lady were arrested on Wednesday.
The four were arrested at a house in Makongeni Section 7 where they were allegedly found with an assortment of the banned brews.
The three men are said to have gone to collect the brews from the lady.
Makongeni police station OCS Samuel Khisa said the suspects were still being grilled before being presented to court on Thursday.
"The arrest was facilitated by the public who informed us that there was a dubious business going on at the said household and we took action," said Khisa on the phone.
He thanked the public for volunteering information while assuring them that their identities and information that they give to the police shall remain confidential.
"We urge the public to continue cooperating with us as we are committed to ensuring that community policing works in this area", the OCS added. Police and local administration are being blamed by residents for the resurgence of the said brews.
