Residents of Gathangari village in Githiga ward, Githunguri sub county have urged police to intensify security and deal with criminals allegedly causing havoc in the area. According to the residents, a criminal groups are terrorizing residents even during the day.
Speaking to this Hivisasa writer on Monday, Anne Njogu, an MPESA operator in the area alleged the rise of mugging cases. She said that a group of young men wait for residents at night and early mornings and rob them of their valuables.
“Security in this area is deteriorating and we would like to urge the police to intensify patrols and arrest the suspects,” said Anne.
Speaking at Githunguri trading center on Friday, area OCPD Ranson Lolmodon urged residents to report cases of crime to the police.
He observed that some of the cases were not reported to law enforcers making it hard for them to act.
At the same time the OCPD urged residents to embrace Nyumba Kumi and other community policy strategies being employed by the police to fight crime.
The OCPD however assured residents in the area of police commitment to fight the criminal elements.
