Gatundu North Constituency Development Fund kitty will ensure all secondary schools in the area have fully operational laboratories.

Speaking in his office on Friday morning, CDF chairman Simon Njogu said the kitty has already and will continue boosting the education sector in the area.

“The CDF committee plans to build modern laboratories in our secondary schools to boost performance in science subjects,” he said.

Njogu revealed that most of the funding they receive from the national government has been used to equip Igegania District Hospital with less involvement in the education.

“We have spend more than Sh69 million to equip and develop our only main hospital in this area which is Igegania. However, we have not forgotten the education of our children. We will in the next financial year use Sh60 million on projects in secondary schools within Gatundu North,” he revealed.

The CDF chair revealed that day schools would be given first priority.

Njogu said they have already formed development committees to ensure the projects are seamlessly carried out until fruition.

“We have so far developed and connected seven primary schools to the national power grid among them being Mataara and Gatunguru but we are still far from harmonising development in all schools. We have issued Sh24 million this year as bursary to both college and high school students,” he added.
