The Nakuru county government‘s outreach programme dubbed the Gavana Mtaani Outreach Programme as it seeks to bring services closer to the people.
Through the initiative, the county government administration, and all its departments, plan to set up camp in all the sub-counties in the county to service the people at the grassroots for two days.
They plan to visit all the 55 wards.
The initiative’s first stop was in Kuresoi South.
Last week, the governor visited Kuresoi North. The residents of Kuresoi were jubilant as many were able to receive services that would have otherwise taken too long for them to receive.
An exclusive interview with the Nyota Ward MCA Njuguna Gichamu, he revealed that he was elated that this initiative received such positive reviews.
“I am indeed happy because of the turn out and that people have been able to open up about their problems. The best part about this is that people are no longer passive about their participation in development matters,” he said.
The initiative saw the rehabilitation of health facilities, schools, unveiling of a new ambulance among other services.
To the naysayers of the initiative, the MCA insisted that this initiative has been a long time coming and that it is not just a campaign ploy to woo voters.
The initiative is slated to take part until April of this year and the next stop will be on February 24 and 25 in Molo.
