West Mugirango MP James Gesami is the new Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) chairman in Nyamira County.
Gesami was elected unopposed in an exercise held at Nyamira Boys High School and presided over by Kisii University don Dr Evans Kenanda.
North Mugirango MP Charles Mongare was elected the branch secretary and Mr Michael Matoke as his deputy.
ODM national treasurer Timothy Bosire who is also Kitutu Masaba MP and the county Women Representative MP Alice Chae were also elected as delegates.
Other officials elected were; Richard Kaka (vice chairman), James Maroro (treasurer), Duke Nyaribo (vice treasurer), Charles Sagwe (organizing secretary), George Nyanyuki (deputy organizing secretary), Dennis Marube (youth leader) and Caro Mogere (women representative ).
Addressing the delegates after the elections, Bosire claimed the Jubilee administration was tolerating corruption.
He tipped opposition leader Raila Odinga as the only leader who can put up a spirited fight against corruption.
His sentiments were echoed by Gesami, who said Raila is the right leader to steer the country to the right direction.
