Nakuru residents will no longer need to dig deep into their pockets while re-filling their cooking gas cylinders.

This follows the announcement by the National Oil Corporation of Kenya to lower prices of cooking gas starting July.

The drop in prices now means that a resident in Nakuru County will refill their National Oil 3kg cylinder at Sh420, while a 6Kg will be refilled at Sh700.

According to Business Daily newspaper, NOCK chief executive Sumayya Athmani said the move aims to drive the use of cleaner energy in poor households.

“We have also unveiled the Project Mwananchi where we are introducing 4.3 million new cooking gas cylinders into Kenyan households over the next three years at a cost of Sh5.6 million,’’ she said.

The NOCK gas cylinders can be bought at any National Oil petrol stations in Nakuru.
