Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has reiterated his commitment in fulfilling his campaign promises.

The governor said Wednesday his desire is to see the people of Nakuru live a decent life.

Speaking in Langa Langa town in Gilgil sub-county where he made a stopover while on a projects development tour in the area to meet the people, Mbugua said so far, he was satisfied with a majority of on-going projects in different areas saying he is strategising on how best to finalise them by the end of 2016.

“You elected me into office and my duty is to ensure that I supervise the initiating of projects aimed at improving on your living conditions,” he said.

He tasked other leaders to ensure that they engage themselves in pro-development initiatives so as to be assured of a second term come 2017.

“Politics is funny; today I am with you soliciting votes tomorrow. I am moving around with tinted cars because I achieved what I wanted; to me, that is wrong and such leaders should never be given a chance in this modern world where accountability and truthfulness goes hand in hand with leadership,” he explained.

Mbugua is on an around tour of the county to inspect all development projects being funded by the county government as he strategises on how best to woo voters in 2017 after expressing his desire to seek re-election for the governor’s post.

Among projects being implemented are water tanks to schools, villages and hospitals, roads, street lighting, school tuition blocks and dormitories.
